Ag fair for students at Stewartville High School

STEWARTVILLE, Minn. (KTTC) -- Everything from goats, baby chicks and even some farm equipment was brought inside a local school building to get children excited about farming.

Members of the Stewartville High School FFA became the teachers as Stewartville elementary school students got to see what farm life was all about.

More than 400 kids ranging from Kindergarten to 3rd Grade had the opportunity to come through the exhibit.

"It's a great way for them to connect back to agricultural, see where their products come from, who makes their products. There's a very big disconnection now, generations being off of the farm so it's a great way to inform the youth where their products come from and what agricultural does for them personally," said Matthew Welter, a senior at Stewartville High School.

Matthew once attended this event when he was in elementary school, but now he is on the other side teaching younger kids about farming.
