Private Tony Friedt served from June 11, 1943 - January 15, 1946 as a Paratrooper with Company B - 511th Parachute Infantry - 11th Airborne Division "Angels". During WWII, he participated in three jumps: first jump during the Leyte Campaign, second jump on Taygaytay Ridge to assist other troops, and the third jump was on Feb. 23rd, 1945 to help liberate 2147 prisoners at Los Banos Internment Camp [same day as Iwo Jima]. He was lost at war for 12 days. He received the Purple Heart.
