KTTC Rochester, Austin, Mason City News, Weather and SportsFire destroys Rochester apartment

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- An apartment unit is destroyed after a fire that likely started from a space heater.

The fire department was dispatched to 127 Mayo Park Drive around 9:30 a.m. Saturday. The fire was on the second floor.

Residents on the first floor were home at the time and were evacuated. No one was home in the upstairs apartment that was burning.

A dollar estimate is not available but fire officials say the second floor sustained extensive damage and is likely destroyed.
