ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC)-- The Mayo Civic Center was packed Saturday afternoon, for the Blufflands Deer & Turkey Show.
Special displays were available from a variety of hunting, fishing, and wildlife organizations.
Designed as a family event, special programs and seminars were available for the entire family to attend.
In fact, a Youth Archery area gave the kids a chance to practice their skills on a deer manequin.
Activities like this and some other booths were aimed at the younger generation...as a way to fight the decline of a traditional Minnesota sport.
Host of North American Hunter T. V., Melissa Bachman states, "Hunting has become a sport that really is almost dying off. A lot of people who enjoy hunting aren't taking the time to take their children out and this is a generation we really need to get involved. Hunting is a sport that everybody can enjoy and really it's a place that you can spend a great time with you family."
