Red Wing police arrest pair in alleged robbery

RED WING (KTTC-TV) -- Red Wing police have arrested two people in an alleged robbery Tuesday evening of a man at the Parkway Motel on Highway 61.

Capt. Darold Glander says an investigation of the alleged robbery is ongoing, but that a man and a woman have been booked on initial charges after a 36-year-old Minnesota man reported the man held a knife to his throat and demanded money.

Curtis Venzant, 30, is being held in the Goodhue County Adult Detention Center on booking charges of first and second degree aggravated robbery, second degree assault, making terroristic threats, and interfering with a 911 call.  Jennifer Staten, 32, is being held on an initial charge of second degree aggravated robbery.

All three had been living at the Parkway Motel at 3425 Highway 61 West, and apparently all knew each other, according to the police captain.
