Lyle school board has a new member

LYLE, Minn. (KTTC) -- It was an unusually quiet school board tonight as four candidates vye for the open seat on the school board.

Board members asked the candidates a series of questions, mainly on how they would fix the districts problems. The top runner was Jerry Sampson, followed by Brandon Slowinksi, Wayne Frank and Patrick Murphy. Sampson said he hopes to help the board communicate better and bring the community together for the last two meetings.

An interesting note, board president, Dean Rohne hasn't been in attendance for the last two meetings. When we asked the board about it, they declined to comment on his whereabouts, and couldn't confirm he'd even be a board member come January.

We tried contacting Rohne this evening for comment, but were unsuccessful in our attempts.
