Finishing the holiday shopping list

In the hustle and bustle of the holiday weekend many of us are rushing through that never-ending list to make sure nothing is missing.

Don't worry, you're not alone if you still need to head to the grocery store for some last minute shopping - but you better hurry.

Shopper Derek Dammen says, "I didn't realize how packed the parking lot is out there, it's amazing."

Inside the stores,  foot traffic is fierce. Many are trying to get those last items crossed off the list.

Luckily the Dammen family had the day off to grab food for Christmas dinner, with three little helpers in tow.

Derek and Amy say, "Usually I come Thursday mornings when nobody is here, this is very busy and we are just starting our list, well about halfway through, but so far we have gotten everything we need."

Turkey, ham, cookies, potatoes and pies all seem to be big sellers for those who are out.

The Kopp family is also bearing the crowds, searching for products to take to a Christmas party. They state, "You really have to navigate this place, I haven't seen it this busy in here."

Hyvee employees work to keep the shelves stocked and help locate the tricky to find ingredients.

Edna Strobush says she loves this time of the year because people are often in the holiday spirit. She says the happy environment gives her a desire to help....going above and beyond just stocking items. Strobush states, "I love helping people, I ask why don't I go get your product for you...and save them a few steps."
