Date of Birth: April 27, 1949
Date of Death: April 28, 2011

MMCM(SS) RET Denny proudly served in the Navy for 21 years. He was stationed out of Groton/New London, Connecticut and Holy Loch, Scotland aboard submarines ranging from diesel boats to fast attacks. He retired in 1991 as a Command Master Chief. Up until he was no longer able, he loved nothing more than sharing sea stories!
Hope that's enough. If you would like more, just let me know, J Denny really loved being in the Navy and I still hear from men who served with him and remember his constant smile and quick wit just as much as his expertise in *fixing anything!* J His initial boat was the USS Hardhead 365, which he decommissioned. He was on the USS Nautilas for a short time. Other subs included the USS Kamehameha, USS Stonewall Jackson, the USS Daniel Webster and the USS Gato on which he was the COB.
In September of 1987 he was voted Sailor of the Month by the SE Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.
