Lance Corporal Eugene (Gene) Hofius graduated from Owatonna High School and lives in Mazeppa.

Gene served as a Radioman with the 1st Marine Air Wing based at Camp El Toro, California. 

Gene is a member of the Mazeppa American Legion Post #588, and served as Commander 1996-2007. 

Gene is also a member of the Mazeppa Veterans Honor Guard and the Marine Corps League in Red Wing.
