Police investigate arson after recent car fires

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC)-- Police are investigating two car fires they believe to be connected in a case of arson.

Both happened outside of Summit Square apartments in Rochester only four days apart.

The first car caught on fire last Tuesday, and the second is a total loss after it caught on fire early Saturday morning.

Police came to the conclusion that it was arson because, among many other similarities, both vehicles started on fire from underneath.

Alec Beck just moved to Rochester and had only been here four days before his car caught fire.

He says "It was three or four in the morning. I don't know what you're doing at three or four in the morning on a Tuesday out on the street but to have a motive to light a random truck on fire just blows my mind."

So far, police don't have any suspects or leads, but they're offering up to a 25-hundred dollar reward for any information concerning either car fire.
