Women's shelter kitchen makeover

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Rochester's women's shelter and its transitional home are always at full capacity. In hopes of making the women's transitional house more "homely" a group of area builders recently remodeled the kitchen.

The Rochester Area Builder re modelers council renovated the kitchen as part of a community service project. They applied for a Pepsi grant and were awarded $5,000 dollars. Local businesses donated appliances and their help to make the project a success.

"We have had so many people donate things for this project. We have new appliances, we have new floors, we have beautiful new cupboards that the Pepsi grant paid for," said Jackie Foley, with the Women's Shelter.

More than 41 women are currently calling the women's shelter and transitional housing, their home.
