Update: Three hurt in Rochester shooting

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- More information has been released about a violent shooting in northwest Rochester.

Three people were hurt in the shooting, which happened near 56th Avenue and Kingsbury Street NW around 10:30 p.m.

Police say the shooting happened in the neighborhood behind Gibbs Elementary, but the victims drove to the Walmart North where they called 911 requesting medical help.

The 21-year-old driver of the car, and a 27-year-old passenger had been shot.

Both were taken to Saint Marys Hospital by Gold Cross.

A 17-year-old female in the backseat was not hurt.

Another individual, a 27-year-old man had left the vehicle after being struck by gunfire, but it is not known where he was hit.

His injuries were very minor and investigators ay he didn't seek medical attention until he was located at his home by authorities.

One of the victims was shot in the torso and was taken into surgery.  His injury is not life-threatening.

At this point no one is in custody, and police are asking for anyone with information to come forward.

Investigators are also looking into any possible link between this incident and other shots fired situations recently, but it's too early to indicate whether or not there is a relation.
