More organizations ask for money at city council

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Money was the focus of another city council committee of the whole meeting this afternoon. As the end of the year winds up organizations are requesting money for their budgets next year.

Monday afternoon, R-Neighbors came before the council. The organization's mission is to get people out of their houses and engaged in their neighborhood. RNeighbor volunteers logged nearly 18,000 hours in the past year, and all of the volunteer work is equal to $384,000 dollars worth of work. This will be the third year RNeigihbors has requested the same amount of money from the city, totaling $81,000 - dollars.

If you're interested in supporting the organization, they'll be holding their fifth annual fundraising Luau on October 28th. The event will take place at the International Event Center from 6 to 10 PM, with a Hawaiian cuisine for dinner, followed by a silent auction. Tickets are still available, the price per person is $15-dollars
