FARGO, N.D. (KTTC/AP) -- North Dakota State football coach Craig Bohl says this week's game at Minnesota is a chance for his players to make a statement.
The Bison play the Gophers for the first time since 2007, when NDSU won 27-21 in Minneapolis. NDSU has a 4-3 record against Division I Football Bowl Subdivision teams since 2006.
About half of NDSU's squad is made up of Minnesota players. Bohl downplayed that as a motivating factor for the Bison, but added that none of his players received scholarship offers from Big Ten Conference schools.
The 2-0 Bison are ranked No. 12 in this week's Football Championship Subdivision coaches' poll. They fell six spots after a bye week that followed two easy wins.
Says Bohl, "Make no mistake, this is an important game for us."
