Christmas in August

You may have heard of Christmas in July, but August?

That's exactly what is happening at the Minnesota State Fair.

Its a competition over 50 years in the making that Minnesota tree growers can enter and show off their Minnesota grown evergreen trees.

The entries will be judged and the winning grower gets to go to the governors house.

"Once it gets to the end of one season, you start planning for the next season, you know what I mean. August is like kind of the end of summer and then we just skip over fall cause that's the next big thing. The state fair kind of represents the end of summer beginning of fall. But yeah, Christmas is kind of a big deal"  Said Holly Anderson of St. Paul

It kind of adds new meaning to the song "Why can't every day be like Christmas".

Even if you're not a grower this is still something to see.  Who would have thought Christmas 4 months early.
