Winona woman pleads guilty to check fraud

WINONA, Minn. (KTTC) -- A Winona woman has pleaded guilty to stealing money from a parent-teacher group.

Jessica Bethke,38, admitted to check forgeries between July of 2008 and January of 2010.

As part of a plea deal, Bethke will serve two years probation and pay restitution and audit costs of just over $11,000.

The funds were discovered missing from The Parent Teacher Partnership in April of 2010.

The group is now controlled by Winona Area Catholic Schools.

Bethke had no prior criminal history.

Her sentencing is set for October.
