ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) - Michigan's Nik Stauskas is the Big Ten's Player of the Year. Stauskas led the Big Ten with 13 games of 20 or more points. Wolverines' head coach John Beilein was named by the media Coach of the Year, while Tim Miles of Nebraska gained the honor from his peers. In other honors, Indiana's Noah Vonleh was named Freshman of the Year by coaches and media.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Taylor Braun 28 points lifted top-seeded North Dakota State to its second-consecutive Summit League tournament title game when they beat fourth-seeded Denver 83-48 in the semifinals yesterday. Braun made 7 of 9 shots and had 10 free throws for North Dakota State. TrayVonn Wright added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Bison.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Second-seeded Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne knocked out two-time defending champion South Dakota State 64-60 yesterday in the semifinals of the Summit League tournament. The Mastodons play top-seed North Dakota State today. The difference was 3-pointers as IPFW went 7 for 18 to 4 of 15 for SDSU.
WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - Williston State College point guard Trey Dickerson plans to play for the University of Iowa the next three years. The 6-foot freshman gave a verbal commitment to the NCAA Division I Hawkeyes over the weekend. Dickerson this season helped lead the Tetons to a 26-5 regular season record and a Mon-Dak Conference title.
