Boys and Girls Club director leaving

Rochester, Minn. (KTTC) --

The director for the Boys and Girls Club of Rochester is leaving his post. Larry Kent has been at the head of the organization in Rochester for the past 7 and half years. And he's watched it grow in size to roughly 1,800 students, that serve 35,000 meals and snacks a year.

Now, Kent is moving up the ladder and taking a position with the National Boys and Girls Club of America. It's a job, though, that will still keep him in Rochester.

"I'm still going to be an advocate and a champion for youth in our community and plan on staying here; this is my home. And just appreciate everyone's partnership and participation with Boys and Girls Clubs over the past 7 years, to really make it what it is here in Rochester today," says Kent.

Kent's last day is April 30th. Jodi Millerbernd, the current associate executive director, will step up as the interim director until the board find someone to fill the position.
