Children's Museum of Rochester hosts "Snow Day Safari"

ROCHESTER, MN (KTTC-DT) -- Monday's snowy weather gave extra meaning to the Children's Museum of Rochester's "Snow Day Safari."

This is the first sponsored event for the Children's Museum of Rochester, and was held in the Mayo Civic Center Auditorium.

The event ran from 10 to 3 Monday, and featured live music, sports activities, a bounce house, face painting, and numerous other kid-friendly, hands-on activities.

All of this is geared to show what a kids' museum could offer, and continue to help raise money for it.

Katie Johnson, from Cook, Minnesota, says she doesn't have anything similar to this back home. She was in awe with everything to do.

Katie Johnson says, "My sister made a crown and I face painted. We went in the bouncer. And that's mostly all we did because we just got here a couple minutes ago."

President Melissa Brinkman tells us that proceeds from this will go help fund the museum. They're still working on finding a site, and hope to open in early 2012.
