Chili cook-off attracts hundreds

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- The word "chili" describes more than just the weather.

Wednesday, people gathered inside Goonies for the Roscoe's Rootbeer and Ribs 4th annual Winterfest Chili Cook off.

There were 19 different pots of chili divided in to hot or Fire alarm, medium or Sprinkler alarm and vegetarian or False alarm.

An estimated 100 gallons of chili was served to the more than 300 patrons.

Chili enthusiast Dave Lewis said, "Well I had about 12 bowls of chili today, and with that I had one spoon. And with that one spoon they were delicious. On a chilly day, chili's great!"

First place Chili chef's will receive 125 dollars in cash as well as 50 dollars in gift certificates

All the proceeds from the Chili Cook off go to The Alzheimer's Association which provides support groups and care consulting for families effected by Alzheimer's for free.
