K-M referendum vote Tuesday

KASSON, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Tax payers in the Kasson-Mantorville School District are heading to the polls Tuesday.

They'll be voting on a proposed bond referendum, which would authorize the district to issue nearly $9 million in school building bonds.

The district hopes to use the money to expand and remodel Kasson-Mantorville High School.

The school's enrollment is expected to grow from about 600 now, to 750 in the next two years.

In order to secure the money, taxpayers would have to agree to higher taxes for the next 20 years.

The increase would be about $50 per year on a $150,000 home.

Voting will take place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the high school's north gym.
