Austin elementary school still considering new schedule

AUSTIN, Minn. (KTTC) -- Sumner Elementary School is one step closer to switching to a new academic schedule.

According to a survey parents filled out last week, preliminary results show they are interested in a 45/15 calendar.

The school year would start in August and go through the beginning of June.

Students would attend classes for 45 days straight and then have 15-day breaks.

The district will be conducting more research into the possible change over the next few days, as well as organizing more parent meetings.
