Mueller becomes Olmsted County's Sheriff

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) --  The county of Olmsted officially has a new Sheriff. Dave Mueller took his oath of office this morning.

Dave Mueller began his law enforcement career in 1981, when he was hired to be an Olmsted County Sheriff's Deputy. Over the course of the years Mueller has held many positions. However, not all in the sheriff's office, his last job was as the Olmsted's Human Resources Director. Muellers said it was exciting to be sworn-in as sheriff.

"A really neat experience again. One that kind of fulfills that dream that I've had for a number of years. It's a new chapter in my life and from that standpoint, I just feel very proud," said Sheriff Mueller.

Over the course of the next year the sheriff said he hopes to combat drugs and gangs, and that's something the community can help out with, by being the eyes and ears for law enforcement officials.
