Snowy travels for those headed to grandma's

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Another round of fresh snow is making for a slow start to grandma's house for some on this Christmas weekend.

It would have already been a white Christmas without any extra snowfall. Yet, flakes just kept falling, causing headaches for some travelers, but joy for others.

"It's a little slick. You just got to bare through it, I worked today until noon. It's not too bad, I got the truck, so it's not to bad," said Christy Krahn, from Plainview.

"Well it'll slow me down a little bit, but I love snow, I love the winter. It's just too beautiful of a day to complain. It'll be great!" exclaimed Jim Gander.

What happens, though, if there is that slight possibility you won't make it home for the holidays? Lynda Oetken is worried she may find herself snowed in with her fiance in Rochester.

"Right now I'm supposed to be heading to Mason City, Iowa for my family, but I'm not quite sure if I'm going to go yet. I've talked to some relatives back home and they're going to be giving me a call back to see if I should be going or not," said Lynda Oetken.

But she isn't too worried.

"Oh yeah, we have phones and we can talk, so it's going to be a Merry Christmas. There are a lot of other people less fortunate than us in different parts of the world, so we're very happy to be where we are," said Oetken.
