Long-time Rochester Fire Department Deputy Chief set to retire

ROCHESTER, MN (KTTC-DT) -- A long-time Rochester Fire Department Chief will be retiring at the end of the month.

Deputy Chief Lyle Felsch will be retiring from the Rochester Fire Department. Monday afternoon, a reception was held for Felsch at City Hall.

He has worked 35 years total in the fire service, starting in Winona before coming to work for Rochester in 1984.

Many stopped by to wish him luck, share a few laughs and cake, and talk about what he plans to do now in retirment.

Felsch says firefighting was a dream career for him.
