Katie Lange joined the KTTC NewsCenter team in September 2010, as a Multimedia Journalist, working out of the Austin Bureau.
Katie has worked as a General Assignment Reporter for WDIO-TV/WIRT-DT(ABC) and as a Multi Media Assistant at KBJR/KDLH-TV(NBC/CBS), both in Duluth, Minn.
Originally a native of southern Minnesota, she attended Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato for two years, before transferring to the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Katie graduated Summa Cum Laude, in May of 2009, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Communication and a Journalism minor.
Before moving to the Northland, Katie worked with Charter Main Street Sports to broadcast Minnesota State University-Mankato and University of Minnesota-Duluth hockey games. As part of that experience, she anchored the MSU Maverick Hockey pre-game show. While anchoring, she won a National 3rd Place award for 'TV Sports Anchor' from the Broadcast Education Association.
Katie has always been a curious cat. Her initial love for being in front of people and telling stories began at a young age. Katie's parents would receive calls from her elementary school teacher claiming she talked too much during class. Her parents just shrugged their shoulders, knowing her communication skills would serve her well in future endeavors.
In her spare time you'll find Katie in the great outdoors; hiking, kayaking or taking pictures. Feel free to drop her a line at Klange@kttc.com or follow her on Twitter @TV_KatieLange.
