FloodFest 2010 Kicks-Off

ZUMBRO FALLS, Minn. (KTTC--) Floods ravaged southeastern Minnesota more than a month ago, but homeowners are still feeling the effects of mother nature.

At the Bluff Valley Campground, a fundraiser is being held to help those affected by the floods.

FloodFest 2010, is a weekend long event aimed at raising money for the victims of September's floods. Hundreds of people are still trying to rebuild their homes and get back on their feet. To top it off, many people were left without flood insurance and unable to qualify for FEMA, which makes events like FloodFest all the more important. One of the event organizers, Scott Deobale, explained what the funds will go to.

"The money is going into a fund that we've set up and it's all going back to the flood victims," said Deobale.

Event organizers told us that rain or shine the activities will go on all weekend, including a pancake breakfast, live bands, silent auction and games.
