Rochester school superintendent Dallemand offered job in Georgia

ROCHESTER / MACON, GA (KTTC)  -- The Bibb Co. Public School Board in Macon, Georgia, has voted to offer the job of superintendent to Rochester Schools Supt. Dr. Romain Dallemand.

The Macon school board was sharply divided over whether to offer Dr. Dallemand the job, voting 5-3 to extend him the offer without public debate.  The board had emerged from an executive session behind closed doors to publicly make its formal decision.

Dr. Dallemand was in a school board meeting in Rochester when the news broke; he related to KTTC NewsCenter's Heidi Wigdahl that he hadn't gotten a call just yet, and was waiting to hear the news for himself.  We'll have the very latest tonight on KTTC NewsCenter at 10 p.m.
