Haunted house in Rochester

Rochester, MN (KTTC-DT) --

It's the spookiest day of the year, Halloween. And one Rochester couple intends on having their home as the scariest place to be. This is the fourth year Ted and Julie Galaty have hosted the Horror Party on Colonial Lane. But as the years go by, the haunted house gets bigger and more people are attending.

While it might not look all that scary during daylight hours, at night, people will wait up to 45 minutes in line to see inside the house. Host Draco, from Transylvania, shows people his Tudor home in Southeast Rochester, including dining room, butcher shop, and torture room. Draco says the roughly 20 minute tour will be sure to spook you.

"This is the 4th year that we've been inviting Rochester to our party. And it started with just the first floor and now we've expanded to the bottom floor and also outside. So, it's just grown into quite a monster, hahaha."

Draco says he and his wife started the house as a fundraiser for his wife's swimming school, but now half the proceeds will also go to the Rochester Water Ski show.

If you'd like to check out the event, Sunday night is the last night it's open. The address is 5653 Colonial Lane Southeast in Rochester. The family friendly time goes until 7, then the Haunted House turns scary. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 dollars for kids.
