Hollandale residents to vote about drinking on Sundays

HOLLANDALE, Minn. (KTTC) -- Hollandale residents will vote on whether or not they will allow a local bar and restaurant to apply for a Sunday on-sale liquor license.

This is the first time Hollandale is bringing the matter to a vote on the November ballot.

If it passes, it would allow the Three-In-One Hollandale Bar and Restaurant to serve liquor on Sundays.

Patrons would not be able to take the liquor outside of the restaurant.

However, it would help increase customers in the area, specifically for viewing sporting events.

"There's a lot of people that will leave Hollandale and go some place else that sells drinks on Sundays which, you know, why have those driving out when we can probably keep them here to do the same thing to watch some sports activity on television," Hollandale Mayor Ted Radke said.

Although the city council is in full support of granting the license, it is up to the voters come November.
