U of M frat hires house dad after alleged assault

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (AP) -- One of the three University of Minnesota fraternities where a sexual assault was reported earlier this year is bringing in some adult supervision.

The president of the Chi Psi Alumni group, Ryan Ahlberg, says a house director has been hired for the fraternity's house, called "The Lodge."

He's Jim Anberley, a 1982 U of M graduate and a second-generation Chi Psi. Ahlberg says Anberley will move in next week. Anberley was not available for comment Wednesday.

Ahlberg says it's a step toward refocusing the fraternity back to developing future leaders and away from partying.

A university official says five the 24 campus fraternities and nearly all sororities have house directors.

The assault reportedly happened Sept. 25. Police say no charges will be filed, but the university says underage drinking was involved and Chi Psi may face administrative sanctions.
