Two charged in Winona for child pornography

WINONA, Minn. (KTTC-DT) -- The Winona Police Department has charged two people in a child pornography case.

Police were called to a house on the 500 block of East Broadway last weekend. A man found child pornography on his computer, after kicking out a friend, who was staying with him. Police then questioned Donna Zauner, the person who was staying with him, and reviewed photos on her cell phone.

"Police found over 20 inappropriate pictures of partially clothed children on that cell phone," says Winona Police Department Chief Paul Bostrack.

Zauner allegedly took photos of the 6 and 2-year-old that were staying with her in order to receive a ride to New York from Alec Tafolla. Zauner had previously exchanged pornographic photos to Tafolla as well.

Police issued a warrant after Tafolla fled his residency. He was tracked down through his cell phone, traveling from Madison to Tennessee.

Many neighbors, like Don Donahue, were around when police searched the residence in question. "I was a little shocked because I saw the squad cars. I saw the stuff happening over there and I wasn't sure what was going on," he said.

Zauner is still in Tennessee and it is yet unknown if he will appear in Tennessee or Minnesota for court.
