Fire destroys everything for one family's wedding

SIMPSON (KTTC-DT)-- A family in Simpson whose house was destroyed by a massive fire last week says they are moving forward with their daughter's wedding after loosing everything in the blaze.

The state fire marshal and other fire officials will be on scene Thursday to wrap up their investigation, but preliminary estimates are that house was worth over $350,000.

"Everything is gone, everything," says Jane Hedin who lived in the house with her husband.

Jane's daughter is suppose to get married on October 9th, however everything except for the wedding dress was lost in the September 14th fire. Investigators still don't know what caused the blaze but the Hedin's say the wedding will be going on as planned.

"It's like you're living life fast, everyday, we're planning this wedding and you're going and then all of a sudden it's like someone just throws on the brakes," Jane adds.

The Hedin's do have insurance, but it won't be able to replace Jane's mother's wedding ring, their cat Bailey or all of the hand crafted wood working Mike made as he built the house himself.

"The thing that's hardest in some way, I know it's not our fault but it's knowing that it was our own blood, sweat and tears that went into it," she adds.
