Miracle of Birth at the State Fair

Each year the State Fair times the births of several farm animals to occur during the 11 day run.

It's designed to be a learning experience for visitors.

Chickens, pigs, sheep and more are expected to give birth before the end of this year's fair.

To get up close to the newborns, they're offering to take your picture with them, but you'll have to pay for that.

Some chickens have already hatched. And on the first day of the fair, a sheep gave birth to two little ones.

Veterinary student Sandra Lewis says "some young fairgoers gave them their names, 'Sparkle' and 'Fairy'."

A quiet area is set up where the animals can be moved to if they show signs of stress from the crowds.
