ROCHESTER, Minn. -- At least one tornado touched down near Rochester Friday afternoon.
A twister was spotted around 3:30 p.m. near Hayfield near Highway 56 and later near Kasson.
Photos came pouring into newsroom of the funnel.
There was significant damage to one house whose trees were uprooted and the barn was in shambles. The tornado danced around the house for about 5 minutes. It then headed northwest and dissipated.
Officials say there was little preparation for the tornado that was about to come, because storms that severe were unexpected.
There were also multiple reports of funnel clouds in Southwest Rochester between 4:30 and 5 p.m., most of which dissipated quickly.
