Dr. Bruce LeRoy Montplaisir grew up on a dairy farm near Horace, a small community in southeastern North Dakota. He received his elementary education in a one-room public school and in a parochial school established near Wild Rice, North Dakota; his secondary education was received in Kindred, North Dakota.
Montplaisir served with Company F 51st Airborne Infantry Long Range Patrol near Bien Hoe, Viet Nam and Company F Long Range Recon Patrol 75th Rangers near Long Bien, Viet Nam.
Dr. Montplaisir received his Bachelor of Science degree with a major in mathematics and a minor in physics from the State University of New York at Brockport, New York; his Master of Science degree from North Dakota State University and his Doctorate of Education from the University of North Dakota.
Dr. Montplaisir's career includes an extensive background as a School Principal, Community Education Director, and Superintendent of Schools. Schools and School Districts under his supervision have consistently met or exceeded state guidelines for achievement, attendance, and graduation rates.
