Sandbox dedicated in memory of little boy

PRESTON (KTTC-DT)-- Fillmore County residents are remembering a two-year-old who was killed in a tragic farm accident last year. Anthony Williams was accidentally run over by his grandfather who was driving the family's pickup truck on their farm in Mabel. This weekend, the Bloomfield 4-H club is dedicating a special sandbox at the Fillmore County Fair in Anthony's memory.

"Him and all his little buddies would get together here in the corner of the show ring and play for hours," said Anthony's father Fred on Thursday.

Since the start of the fair last week, Anthony's sandbox has been packed with kids everyday.

"It makes me think of Anthony and how much fun he would've had in there," his father says, looking at the sandbox.

While he was just two-years-old, Anthony loved the sand and now because of some dedicated 4H members, the special sandbox has a new home at the Fillmore County Fair.

"I don't understand why things happen, but I just tell myself that God needed the cutest little angle he could find and he took Anthony," Williams says.

Anthony's sandbox will officially be dedicated as a permanent part of the Fillmore County Fair, this Saturday.
