Candidates support 'Voter Protection Pledge'


ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC-DT) -- Minnesota Republican candidates were in Rochester Tuesday promoting the Voter Protection Pledge.

The pledge, unveiled by the Minnesota Voters Alliance, aims to get candidates to pledge support for legislation requiring photo ID to access a ballot.

Dan Severson, candidate for secretary of state, Sen. David Senjem, candidate for SD29, Duane Quam, candidate for District 29A, Mike Rolih, candidate for District 29B, and Mike Benson, candidate for District 30B all participated in a signing ceremony at Rochester City Hall.

The Voter Protection Pledge has been sent to all candidates who have filed to run for state house, state senate, governor, attorney general and secretary of state.
