WAVERLY (KWWL) -- New details released Wednesday in the death of Josh Young. He's the Waverly-Shell Rock student killed in a car crash March 21st.
17-year-old Alexander Pothast is charged with vehicular homicide in Young's death.
A hearing Friday brought to light many details from the crash.
According to court documents, a Bremer County sheriff's deputy testified Pothast told him he had been drinking before the crash. A blood sample taken after the crash found Pothast's blood alcohol level at .158, court records said.
It was also brought up that this was not Pothast's first alcohol related offense. Court records show he completed a substance abuse education class last year.
The judge decided Pothast will be charged as an adult. He faces up to 25 years in prison.
