Update: woman involved in fiery crash in critical condition

GOODHUE COUNTY, MN (KTTC DT) -- A West Concord woman is in critical condition Friday night after the vehicle she was driving collided with an SUV and burst into flames. The other driver was also injured.

An ambulance and medical helicopter rushed both drivers to St. Marys Hospital after their vehicles slammed into one another.

It happened around 1p.m. at Highway 57 and 490th Street, west of Pine Island, and south of Kenyon, near the small community of Roscoe.

State Patrol says, Bethany Glarner was north on Highway 57 when her vehicle and a suburban heading east slammed into one another. Her car caught fire, but she managed to escape.

Mayo Three airlifted Glarner, now in critical condition.

A Zumbrota Ambulance transported the other driver, who State Patrol identifies as Mary Tesmer. The 24-year-old from Zumbro Falls has minor injuries. Tesmer's suburban rolled.

State Patrol isn't speculating what caused the crash and a mapping unit is on scene.

Jon Danielson, Minnesota State Patrol says, "It's an intersection-related accident where one vehicle was traveling north and the other one was traveling east."

State Patrol says, alcohol was not detected in either driver. Authorities did halt traffic on Highway 57 until the accident was cleared around 2p.m.
