State releasing December job figures

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Minnesota's commissioner of employment and economic development is set to reveal if the state's two-month streak of adding jobs in October and November continued into December.

Between October and November, Minnesota added at least 7,000 jobs. That caused the unemployment rate to drop to 7.4 percent by November, and was seen as a sign of an improving economy.

State employment commissioner Dan McElroy is holding a Thursday press conference to reveal the December numbers. He has cautioned that signs of improvement don't necessarily signal a fully recovered economy.
