Holiday storm headed our way

(FOX 47) -- We'll see a good chance for freezing drizzle and a stray flurry for the rest of Tuesday and into the overnight.

By Wednesday, a very messy, complicated storm heads this way.

Periods of snow/freezing drizzle/rain should start Wednesday afternoon and go into Christmas Eve.

By Friday, there should be enough cold air to work with where all the precip will fall as snow.

Heavy accumulations are still looking likely, and travel will become difficult starting Wednesday night through Christmas Day across the Midwest/Great Lakes.

Sergeant Jon Turk with Rochester's Minnesota's Emergency Management Department says Rochester Public Works is taking delivery of additional sand to help with the freezing rain and drizzle.
