One arrested, two squad cars totaled after high-speed chase

ROCHESTER, MN (FOX 47) -- Two Rochester police officers are assaulted, following a high-speed chase.

The events began around 1:30 Sunday afternoon, when officers responded to a home in Southeast Rochester. When they arrived, a man drove off.

Rochester police and Olmsted County deputies followed him. They didn't begin to pursue him until he started driving at speeds more than 100-miles-per-hour.

Police say the man led them on a chase from I-90 to 63 North. The suspect was also driving into oncoming traffic.

Police finally made the stop around 11th Avenue Southeast and Highway 52 using stop sticks.

The man then punched two officers, who are fine tonight. The suspect was tasered and brought into custody.

Two squad cars were also totaled in the chase.
