For All Patients: Overby Orthodontics also offers patient conveniences such as online account access, email and text message appointment reminders to one or more addresses or phone numbers, as well as the ability to check appointments and pay your account - all online!

In terms of braces, we offer traditional, gold, and clear brackets, Invisalign and other clear, removable aligner systems, and Lingual Braces that are placed behind the teeth. These appliances treat a variety of orthodontic problems such as crossbites, overjet (Overbite), underbite, crowding and space between teeth.

Traditional Braces
Traditional braces are the most common type of braces and are more comfortable today than ever before. Made of high-grade stainless steel, metal braces straighten your teeth using metal brackets and archwires. With metal braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile.

Gold Braces
Gold braces are similar to traditional metal braces in many ways. They are made of stainless steel, but are uniquely coated in gold. The gold coating may be considered a more cosmetic option than traditional metal braces. And, the cost of gold braces is similar to that of traditional braces.

Lingual Braces
Lingual braces are hidden behind the teeth and are therefore "invisible" when you smile. For some, these take more getting used to than traditional braces, but adults especially find Lingual braces a great option when they want to be discreet about their orthodontic treatment.

Clear Brackets
Traditional braces can incorporate the use of Ceramic brackets, which made of clear materials and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. For this reason, ceramic braces are used mainly on older teenagers and adult patients who have cosmetic concerns. While they are visually less prominent, they do require more attention to oral hygiene as ceramic brackets are slightly larger and are more brittle than their metal counterparts. For these reasons, ceramic braces tend to be used more on upper front teeth than on lower teeth.

Invisalign uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners to straighten you teeth. And typically, no one can tell you are wearing Invisalign. Not only are the aligners clear, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment, plus brushing and flossing are less of a hassle. Because they are removable, Invisalign requires complete compliance by the patient achieve the desired result.

Other Invisible (Clear) Orthodontic Appliances
There are also other clear, removable appliance treatments, similar to Invisalign, which may be an option for you.  These treatments are often used when the amount of correction needed is minimal, and you only need a few aligners to get the desired result.  Dr. Overby will be happy to let you know which aligner system would work best for you!
