
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- A convention that attracts thousands of liberal bloggers, activists and leading politicians is coming to the Twin Cities next year.
Sen. Al Franken on Wednesday announced that the Netroots Nation 2011 convention will be at the Minneapolis Convention Center from June 16-19.
Franken made the announcement in the closing keynote speech of the 2010 convention in Las Vegas, which featured a surprise video address by President Barack Obama.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid appeared in person.
