    In 1881, two competing circuses combined forces to create "the Greatest Show on Earth". Barnum and Bailey's Circus, as it was called, traveled across the country with their caravan of animals and performers putting on shows in towns along the way. On July 21, 1917, they paraded down 1st Avenue in Rochester.     The sheriff of Nobles County-- Kent Wilkening--has been sued by the American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota for keeping people in jail even after they have posted bond or completed their sentences. The ACLU-MN filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of four defendants and countless others who are being detained at the request of U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) even though no warrant or probable cause of a crime had been established.

    Welcome to Kenyon!  Home of the boulevard of roses, the town is filled with visitors this weekend for Rose Fest.  Kenyon was founded back in 1856, but the first rose wasn't planted in Kenyon until 1962 when Lloyd Jystad approached the city with an idea to liven up the boulevard.  With a little help and the continued support from the City of Kenyon, this idea flourished into the nearly 100 tree roses that stand today.
