Say Goodbye to the 90s & Record Heat...

Today's Forecast

Today's Forecast Image
  • 86°
  • 69°

To start off, La Crosse hit a high of 93° this afternoon. This is the third afternoon in a row we have broken a record high. All the previous records were set back 126 years ago in 1891. ALSO, this is only the 7th time in La Crosse that we have had three consecutive days of 93° or warmer after August 31st. WOW! Did you enjoy the heat and humidity? If not, you're in luck starting tomorrow. As for the overnight, temperatures remain mild and muggy in the middle to upper 60s with a few clouds.

Monday, expect clouds to be on the increase. The frontal system to the west that has been on standby for the last couple of days will finally begin to advance eastward. Afternoon highs will rise back into the lower and middle 80s. The afternoon will also bring the chance for scattered thunderstorms as the cold front works its' way on by. None of the thunderstorms look as if they will be severe. Overnight, scattered t-storms continue under mostly cloudy skies. Lows will be in the lower and middle 60s.

Tuesday, the cold front continues to drag on by. We will see a moderate chance for more showers under mostly cloudy skies. To be honest, we need the rain as we are running a nearly 2.50" deficit for the month of September. Temperatures remain in the 70s through Thursday. Thereafter, it is back to the 60s with lots of sunshine. High pressure regains control to start your weekend.

Enjoy your Sunday evening! -Stormtracker 19 Meteorologist Alex Wasilenko
