Respite Care

Extended Hand Home Care’s respite service
provides family caregivers short term breaks.
Caring for a friend or family member is a difficult
job, one that should not be done alone. Whether
it is to free up time so you can run errands, go to
medical appointments or just to take a break, our
services can help balance the demanding job of
caring for a loved one.

Our respite care services are available for individuals of any age and can range from a few hours to twenty-four hour care. This allows individuals to remain in their own environment which tends to be less stressful on the individual.

Our Caregivers may provide a wide array of services, including:

Driving and/or accompanying the client to the physician when necessary.

Shopping and performing other household errands.

Reminding clients to take their medication.

Providing hygiene assistance.

Taking care of all personal laundry and bed linens for the client.

Preparing and serving meals according to client's dietary needs.

Cleaning the bathroom and kitchen after use, including washing dishes after meals and mopping the floor.

Making and changing the bed.

Cleaning the client's room, which includes dusting and vacuuming.

Providing age appropriate activities, such as playing with children or playing cards with elderly.

Providing socialization, friendship and support for the client.

Going on walks and encouraging and participating in stimulating activities.
