Warm, humid air is moving into the region today as a storm system brushes past our area to the west on its way to the northern Plains. We're dealing with a few showers and thunderstorms to start the day, but skies will quickly dry out and brighten for the midday and afternoon hours. Sunshine and a slight south breeze later today will help temperatures make their way into the lower 80s. A warm front will swing through the area early Thursday, drawing in even warmer air on a gusty south breeze and high temperatures will be in the mid 80s. A few thunderstorms will develop late Thursday night and will hang around into Friday morning with another, larger batch of thunderstorms possible for the afternoon and evening. That looks to be the wettest, stormiest part of the week, but severe chances look fairly low right now. High temperatures Friday will be in the mid 80s. The holiday weekend looks mainly dry and rather warm with just a slight chance of isolated late day or evening thunderstorms Saturday and then bright sunshine for Sunday and Memorial Day and high temperatures will be in the upper 80s.
