ROCHESTER, MN (KTTC-TV) -- When you think of fairs, you automatically think of the standard foods that go along with summer: deep-fried foods, sugar-y drinks, and meat on a stick. It wouldn't be the same without it, but as we found, there really is something for everyone.
There's two sides to the food spectrum: new and old. Vigor has been around for five years, providing vegetarian, organic foods to hungry fest-goers.
A woman says, "I actually chose it because it was the healthiest down here. I didn't want to eat a greasy corn dog or cheese curds."
Jay Kipson, with Vigor Grill, says,"There are people who are interested in wholesome organic food and when you come to the Rochesterfest, there's not that option. That's why we're here."
On the flip side, there's the oldies and the goodies. Quesadilla Junction has been dishing up a variety of fair food for the past 26 years, since the start of Rochesterfest.
Fred Regal, owner of Quesadilla Junction, says, "we have quesadillas, we have stir fry beef in pita, we started 26 years ago with the langosh, and then crab fritters and steak."
It's always good to try something new, but you can always fall back on the favorites.
